C4 Track mobile app

C4 Track is the driver app of C4 Logistics. This section explains what the app collects. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.

Location data

While a transport job is active, C4 Track collects the precise location of your device (latitude, longitude and time), including when the app is closed or running in the background or the screen is off. We use it to show C4 Logistics and its customers the live progress of the shipment, to provide accurate delivery updates and to confirm collection and delivery. Location is collected only while a job is active: tracking starts when you enter a tracking code and stops when the job is completed. The app shows a notification while it is tracking. You can withdraw permission in your phone’s settings, but the app cannot track a job without it.

Motion and activity data

The app uses your phone’s motion detection only to work out whether the phone is still or moving, so GPS can pause when you are stationary and save battery. It is not a health or fitness feature, and we do not collect or store health or fitness data.

Photos, documents and signature

If you choose to, you can use the camera or photo library to capture delivery photographs and documents, and the app records the recipient’s signature as proof of delivery. These are uploaded to C4 Logistics.

Device and job information

The app uses a device identifier generated by the app, your device model and app version, your job tracking code and a push-notification token to link your phone to the job, support its operation and send notifications. The app also records arrival and departure times for the job. C4 Track does not require an account or a username and password. You enter a tracking code for each job. The app does not ask you to provide your name, email address or telephone number.

Who receives it

Location information and proof of delivery are available to C4 Logistics and, for shipment visibility, to the customer responsible for that job. Information sent by C4 Track is stored in C4 Logistics’ database. Our backend does not forward this information to third-party integrations. The app uses Google Maps to display maps and Google services to display routes. The app also uses Firebase for push notifications. These services process information directly through the app, separately from our database. Google may process information outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep this information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, as described in “How long do we keep personal information?” above.

Contact

For questions, or to request access to or deletion of your data, see “How to contact us” below, or email ops@c4logistics.com.

C4Sight mobile app

C4Sight is the C4 Logistics customer application for iOS and Android. It provides access to the same customer portal available at customers.c4logistics.com. This section explains how the application handles information on your device; the rest of this policy continues to apply to the portal itself. The application communicates only with the C4 Logistics customer portal at customers.c4logistics.com, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Sign-in details

If you choose to enable fingerprint or Face ID sign-in in C4Sight, the application stores your portal username and password on your own device so you do not have to retype them. This is entirely optional and is off unless you turn it on. The details are held in the device’s secure storage – the Keychain on iOS and Keystore-backed encrypted storage on Android – are encrypted by the operating system, are not included in device backups or transferred to a new device, and are never sent to C4 Logistics or any third party except as part of signing you in to the portal.

Biometric data

Fingerprint and face recognition are performed entirely by your device’s operating system. C4 Logistics does not receive, process or store any biometric data, and the application has no access to it. The device only confirms to the application whether the check succeeded.

Documents

Statements, invoices and customs documents you open are downloaded using your authenticated session and stored in the application’s private storage on your device so they can be opened. They are not accessible to other applications and are removed when you delete the application.

Information we do not collect

The application does not use location services, the camera, the microphone or your contacts. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking components, and does not track you across other apps or websites. The app does not use Firebase, Google Analytics or comparable services.

Your choices and deletion

C4Sight stores your saved sign-in details only on your device and never on our servers. You can turn saved sign-in off at any time from within the application, which deletes the stored username and password from your device. They are also discarded automatically if your C4 Logistics password changes or is no longer accepted by the portal, and when you delete the application. Your portal account itself is managed by C4 Logistics – please contact us at ops@c4logistics.com to change or close it.

C4Sight is a business application for C4 Logistics account holders and is not directed at anyone under 18.
