Automotive supply chains depend on continuity. When a single component is delayed, the impact can be disproportionate. So when critical parts need to be moved across borders, the right transport solution needs to be selected and any customs requirements must be met with confidence.
When our customer needed to transport tension springs for an automotive client from France (FR-05, Veynes) to Serbia (RS-15300, Loznica), we stepped in to support them.
To give the customer complete control and speed, we used a dedicated Sprinter van to transport the shipment. With no other shipments on the van, there would be no delays with warehousing or risk of it getting lost during multi-drop deliveries.
Plus, it could run overnight with no driver restrictions (as the vehicle was less than 3.5 tonnes), meaning it could travel from point to point faster. This also provided a single point of accountability from collection through to final delivery.
Managing non-EU customs
France to Serbia is a transport lane that’s requested infrequently. The dedicated van service made the point-to-point transit easier. However, customs formalities and procedures also needed to be managed.
For moves into non-EU destinations, it’s essential to align the paperwork early, confirm border requirements, and keep communication clear so there are no surprises en route.
